YouGov

I was turned on to YouGov by my darling wife, NE, who has since given it up. That doesn’t tell you what YouGov is, though. It’s a polling site that does political polls and for brand indexing purposes. All sorts of agencies request polls with them. The polls come thick and furious during election time. ;) You may ask why on Earth would I give them my opinions… For two reasons.

One, I enjoy being part of this polling process and feel a little proud when I hear that a poll quoted on the television is a YouGov poll. I get to express my feelings as a part of the masses and hopefully make my small impact.

Number two is the big reason. That reason is CASH. They give you anywhere from £.25 – £1.00 per poll. With a guaranteed $.50 a month brand index poll. Now, this might not seem a lot to you (and it’s not), but the polls don’t take that long and when you’ve got £50 in your account, they cut you a check. Also, they have prize draw surveys, which are a bit cheeky as they don’t give you any money straight out, only a chance at money. However, some of these prize draws have a top prize of £1000! It’s not difficult to take a minute or two out of your busy day to do a survey and maybe win some money. Easy money, but the going is slow. It takes around two years to get your hands on £50, if you don’t win a prize draw. But it doesn’t cost you anything.

And now… The plug! If you sign up for YouGov.co.uk using this LINK, then I’ll get the same amount of money you get for the surveys you do. I know this is shameless pluggage, but I do recommend the site.
